Become a Guardian Family!

IMG_1206_edited.jpg

At Long Lake Frenchies, we believe that any loving family who wants to own a French Bulldog should have the opportunity to do so. Realizing they are an expensive furry friend, we've decided to use our Guardianship Program to both bless folks who may never imagine owning such a wonderful pet for a small fee, along with helping perpetuate our breeding program into the future.

Some family breeders find caring homes after the dog is done breeding and others continually add females to their home. Long Lake Frenchies is taking a third approach. Since we do not kennel our dogs to continue our breeding program, we rely on responsible, caring, and trustworthy families who are selected to participate in our Guardian Program. This ensures that our future breeding dogs are raised as a family member in a loving home environment.

While most of our Guardian Homes will receive their puppy at 8 weeks old, we may occasionally have an older male or female come available. Adoption fees are at a significantly reduced rate of $1,000 (Negotiable) to guardian homes as acknowledgment of your participation. Your puppy will get first or second "pick of the litter" and in exchange we will retain breeding rights for the life of the Guardian Contract. (Likely 2-3 Breedings)

For the birth of each litter, females return to Long Lake Frenchies for up to 7 weeks. Guardian families are welcomed (and encouraged) to come a few times while puppies are growing. Eight weeks after every litter you will receive a financial gift ranging from $300-$500 in appreciation of allowing your female to participate in our Guardian Program.

Prospective Guardian Families must fill out an application and are generally required to live within 250 miles of Spokane, Washington. As mentioned before, a deposit of $1000 is part of the acceptance process. As a Guardian Family you will be responsible for the dogs wellness including: vet care, immunizations, socialization, proper diet, exercise...and most importantly being loved as a family pet.

Any costs relating to the health testing and breeding will be the responsibility of Long Lake Frenchies. If the dog does not pass her health clearances, she will be spayed at Guardian's expense, retired from the breeding program, and permanent ownership would then be transferred to the Guardian Family.

A Guardian Family must be willing and able to loan the dog back to us for health testing, breeding, whelping, and raising puppies. After the dog is finished with their breeding career, she/he will be spayed/neutered at the Guardians's expense and the ownership of the dog will officially be transferred to the Guardian Family.

Our Guardian Homes are an integral part of our Long Lake Frenchies community and we value your partnership very much. If you have any questions about becoming a Guardian Family or the Guardianship program in general, please do not hesitate to ask.
